Nidavel features a dashboard where basic blog administration tasks are performed. The home section of the dashboard shows a brief summary of your blog, and can be accessed by visiting localhost:8000/dashboard on your web browser. You have to sign in if you are not already. Don’t forget to turn on your server first. Visit Nidavel quick start guide to see how to get up and running.
On the top right side of the home screen, is your registered username. Click this link when you want to log out of your dashboard.
Down the left side of the screen, you have the dashboard menu. This contains links to the dashboard home screen, posts, pages, appearance, plugins, media, exports, and settings. Click any of these links to navigate to its corresponding page.
In the main section of the page, you have the overview at the top, and the recent posts at the bottom. The overview shows the number of published posts, pages, and exports you currently have. And the recent posts shows the last five posts you worked on currently, and their status.
At the top of the recent posts section, you can see a link ‘See all posts’. This link will take you to the posts section where you can create, edit, and delete posts.
Conclusion
That’s it for the dashboard home screen overview. In the next post, we will look at the Posts section. This is very important as this section is where you will be spending a great deal of your time.
